01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Located in Senjusakuragi, Adachi Ward, Il Sei is an approachable Italian restaurant spotlighting pizzas baked in an in-house oven and pastas designed around balanced sauces. At lunchtime, meals begin with a fresh salad dressed in an aromatic house dressing that sets an inviting tone.

The specialty pizzas are crafted in a generous size on a crisp, thin crust. Classic margherita and four-cheese quattro formaggi drizzled with honey sit alongside creative options such as whitebait and onion in a cream base, each balancing sweet and savoury notes. Because the portions are substantial, sharing across the table is a natural fit.

Pasta options highlight their base sauces, ranging from mellow tomato preparations to aromatic oil-based peperoncino. Wiping up leftover sauce or olive oil with the bread included in the set is part of the appeal. For baked comfort dishes, the kitchen also offers a limited-batch lasagne layered with house meat sauce and béchamel, alongside piping hot gratins featuring changing seasonal fillings.

Spacious table seating gives the quiet dining room versatility, comfortably accommodating solo visitors, families, and larger gatherings alike. As certain oven dishes require patient baking, settling in with an appetiser and a glass of wine makes waiting for fresh plates an unhurried pleasure.
